The Loving Anti-Hero

I love having fun and laughing. Music is my life, and I am very involved with The Jaguar Band. I play all sorts of instruments and listen to all kinds of music. I act out for the love of my family while making many mistakes. I always choose what's best for my family while usually making a fool out of myself. I make many mistakes but still laugh about them. I choose to stay close for my family and do what I think will make them successful. I love to interact with my family, especially at parties. We usually host many family gatherings, but I usually do something wrong. I am the loving anti-hero.

The Quest For Knowledge

I'm on a quest for knowledge. I know that knowledge is power and I will try to obtain all the information that I can. I'm on a quest to learn more; not only about the world, but also about myself. My quest is critical for me to be successful and I need as much knowledge that I can obtain. I don't think I will have many obstacles, but I do plan on fighting them off using the things that I have learned. My quest has taken me to all parts of the world. My most recent trip was to Europe, where I learned much more than I thought I would.

My Father

My father is my mentor. He has taught me everything that I know. He has taught me to manage my time, anger, and money. He has taught me to plan, then build. The most important thing he has taught me however, is to think before I act. Dad helps me through all the tough times. He has been through it all so he can tell me what to do and how to do it correctly. Anytime I'm not successful, my father always brings me back and tells me how to fix my mistake. He is a great dad and is the best because of what he does for me as well as what he sacrifices to make me successful.

Ms. Ana

According to many of the kids at the Divine Mercy of Our Lord Catholic Church here in Mesquite, Ms. Ana was supposed to be this mean old hag. She did pose a threat in the beginning of my confirmation classes, but she helped me a lot towards the end of the program. Ms. Ana is the Director of Religious Education. She scared many kids into believing that they weren't going to be confirmed. She constantly yelled at us for multiple things, so many people hated her (including me). But around the middle of the year I could not find a sponsor and she offered to be my sponsor. Of course I was hesitant at first, but I decided to let her sponsor me. As my sponsor she helped me and we became more than sponsor and candidate, we became best friends. She became my threshold guardian.

Listening

Listening is certainly my weakness. Listening is a difficult task for me. It's a burden being distracted by the day's complications. It's difficult to get things done when you don't know what to do. Not being able to recall times and tasks definitely weaken me. I must learn to listen in order to complete any quest, whether it be big or small.

My Sister THE Trickster

My sister is the clown in the family, and in being such, she prevents us from murdering one another. Katie, my sister, constantly makes us laugh, me especially. Katie and I are very close and she always is there to take me out of a bad mood. My sister constantly makes a fool of herself to make us laugh. Katie is my trickster.

My Beautiful Inspiration

The young lady you see to your left is my inspiration. She usually tells me to do my homework before I talk to her on the phone every night. She doesn't let me do stupid things, or get into trouble. Jessica keeps me grounded and safe. I usually get dumb thoughts in my head, like keying someones car, and she prevents me from doing things like that. I want her to stay in my life as my girlfriend, and in order for me to do that, I have to behave myself. Jessica helps me to keep going even when times are tough.

My Visit to Italy

I went to Italy during spring break this year, and I learned a lot about the architecture and history of Europe. I went for a total of ten days and visited five cities in Italy: Verona, Milan, Venice, Florence and Rome. I learned about a new culture and a new way of life. It was very insightful to see how real Italians live. The architecture is gorgeous and so are the country sides I've seen many things that most people will never be able to see in their lifetime.

Jesus's help

Jesus Christ has helped me through all I've been through. He has always been here, sometimes I just didn't see Him. But once I did see Jesus, I realized how He has helped me. Jesus has been the inspiration that pushed me to do good. He has protected me from all the wicked. He certainly is my divine help.

My Rite of Passage as a Catholic

I was confirmed earlier this year in the Catholic Church. It was the last thing I would have to do in order to be a participating Catholic in the faith. It is a two year program with many challenges, such as thirty community, family and religious service hours as well as writing papers. Some of the service hours included helping with religious education classes. I learned that interacting with children is something that I now enjoy doing. The religious service hours also introduced me to lectoring (reading bible passages at Mass), which has helped me to become a better speaker. Confirmation renewed my faith and my baptismal promises. It was a long journey that involved many tests to prove myself that I was ready to be a confirmed and proud Catholic.

My Loyal Band of Companions

My family is my only real band of LOYAL companions. I know that they are the only ones that I can trust. They will never try to hurt me. My family will always stick by my side and always be here for me like they have in the past. Whether it was my sister driving me to just about anywhere, or my parents preventing me from going out with the wrong kind of people, The Alba's have my best interest in mind.
